Leg training -- results
Hi Emmanuela,
I did legs today. I can feel them! The execution of the exercises is quite different from what I am used
to. I guess I was not focusing on form and control as much. Also, I have never done last
set at lighter weight. I do not have a trainer at the moment. I had a good one but he left
to States so I am going solo.
I'll keep in touch!
Thank you,
Valla
Hi Valla,
I'm excited to see how the leg training works for you.
Is it much different than what you've been doing? I hope your trainer didn't get perturbed
from me giving you a workout. Let me know what happens,
Emmanuela
Her future and favorites
Hi Emmanuela,
I own the tape you made with FTVideo where you are in
wonderful shape. Some parts of your body are really phenomenal like your legs and your
biceps.
In the future do you plan to become a hardcore bodybuilder
or stay a little less developed than the best in the sport? I also wanted to know who your
actual favorite bodybuilders are.
Bye,
Greg
Hi Greg,
I think I've got as big as I want to get. I've been
bodybuilding competitively for six years now, and I think my bodybuilding career has
reached its limit. I'm planning on maintaining my current size, or actually sizing down a
bit. I've been entertaining the idea of doing figure sometime in the future.
My favorite bodybuilders? Well, I don't really have one
in particular. Lenda Murray has always impressed me, though.
Thanks for writing,
Emmanuela
How often?
Hi Emmanuela,
I wrote you before and you were kind enough to answer my
questions. I have more questions for you if that is OK. How many times do you train each
week? Does it change when you are entering a contest?
Thanks,
Tammy
Hi Tammy,
I train five days a week. When training for a
competition the workout basically stays the same except I go twice a day, once for weights
and once for cardio, and I usually add an extra day of just cardio. It's a grueling two
months up to the competition and sometimes the energy is so low I don't think I'm going to
make it, but in the end it is totally worth it.
Thanks for writng,
Emmanuela
First competition
Hi Emmanuela,
I am a working mother of two children who became involved
in weightlifting about a year ago. I would like to take this to the next
level and enter a Level 1 competition this year. My
question to you is: How long before a show do you start dieting and training hard. I am
currently 5' 11", 173 pounds, with 22% bodyfat. I have a trainer that I am
working with on a part-time basis, but he is male. He has trained women to successful
Level 1, 2, and 3 championships, but I am looking for a female perspective. Any tips or
ideas are really appreciated.
Thanx in advance for your help.
Brenda
Hi Brenda,
It sounds like you're pretty serious and revved up to
go! It's going to be quite an experience, but once it's over and you accomplish your goal
there is no better feeling!
When I did my first competition, I started strict
dieting about 15 weeks out. Now I usually start at about 10, but I didn't know how my body
was going to react back then and I wanted to make sure I had enough time to get to where I
wanted to be.
It depends on how your body reacts with all the cardio
and dieting you will be doing. It's good you have a trainer, and it sounds like he knows a
thing or two about all this, so I suggest to just let him do his thing and you do yours.
Everyone is going to tell you something different, but sometimes you just have to trust
your trainer and do your best.
Good Luck, and let me know how you do! If you have any
other questions, you know where to find me.
Emmanuela
