This Plumber in Miami Springs Is the Real Deal

You can’t have a well-cooked meal without a well-functioning kitchen. That’s exactly what I learned from my experience a few months ago. Although the moral of my story is pretty simple and may even be nonsense to some, for me it is a game changer. It taught me to give more importance to my comfort zone (which is my kitchen) and everything in it that makes it a useful place for people like me.

Maybe you are curious as to what happened that forced me to realize those “trivial” things. Well, perhaps I can share with you the highlights of the story. I was preparing lunch that day when I noticed water pooling under the kitchen sink. My cleanliness-obsessive self wanted to do something about the leak, but since my plumbing skills are little to none at all, I decided to wait for the water leak to fix itself. What a huge mistake! By the time I decided to call an expert, the leak has turned from being a minor issue to a full-blown disaster!

Plumber Miami SpringsThrough the advice of my older sister, I called Plumbers 911 South FL (they gave me a free quote, nice!) and waited for a technician to arrive. Despite all the chaos and stress in my messy kitchen, I was surprised with how this professional plumber went on to do his business so spontaneously as if fixing a disaster is the only purpose of his life on earth. He greeted my family and me with respect and asked information from us so nicely, too.

Even though the major issue in my home in South Florida created an unpleasant memory in my mind, the expert that I hired to fix the burst pipe problem made the experience a significant one, for me at least. I hope, you wouldn’t make the same mistake that I did. Don’t think twice hiring a plumber in Miami Springs if you think you need one.

How To Roast A Turkey In A La Caja China Roasting Box

roast a turkey

Thanksgiving is near and I’m pretty sure you’re excited about your special dinner with family and friends. If your mother or wife are always prepare the dinner for you, why not surprise them by making the roast yourself? It is pretty easy to cook a turkey in a La Caja China after all. Here’s a cooking guide to help you out!

1. Get rid of the turkey’s giblets regardless if you’re stuffing it or not. Wash the fowl inside and out to make sure that it’s clean and to prevent upsetting your loved ones’ stomachs, too. If you see any excess fat or any leftover feathers, remove them. Pat it dry and get ready to flavor it up.

2.  Combine your salt and pepper and rub it inside the turkey’s cavity. To make it even more flavorful, stuff it with quartered onions, halved lemons, garlic and thyme. You can use your own choice of herbs and spices, too.

3. For basting, combine melted butter, lemon juice and lemon zest in a saucepan. Add some chopped thyme leaves, too. Once the sauce is ready, brush it on your turkey then once again sprinkle it with salt and pepper.

4. Prepare your La Caja China. Place your turkey on the rack with its breast side facing down. Pour about a gallon of water in your drip tray. You may also add some herbs, spices or even beer in it to give your roast a twist. Place the drip tray in the box and then position your rack.

5. To avoid overcooking or undercooking, connect your wired thermometer on the bird.

6. Place the ash pan and charcoal grid. Add 12 pounds of charcoal if you have roasting box model 1 or 16 pounds if you have model 2. Light them all up and after 25 minutes, they should all shine a bright orange. Spread them on the grid to cook your turkey evenly. Your timer starts now.

7. After one full hour, flip your turkey on its other side. Add another set of charcoal, 5 pounds to be exact. Once your bird’s temp reaches 175 degrees Fahrenheit, consider it cooked.

8. Remove it from the roasting box; let it cool down for another 20 minutes then carve and serve!

A 101 on Sewer Line Care for Aventura Residents

Some people are often grossed out just by hearing the words “Septic tank”.  But the fact is, it’s one of the most important systems in your Dade County residence.    It works by being the “go-to” place for all your wastewater and solid waste.  (i.e. from the laundry, toilet, washroom, kitchen – you get the idea)

Once inside, these substances are the separated. Heavy, solid waste called “sludge” settles at the bottom, while the topmost part is called the “scum” which includes oil, fat and other protein.  The middle portion has heavy, solid waste called “sludge” settles at the bottom, while the topmost part is called the “scum” which includes oil, fat and other protein.  The middle portion has liquid that is called “effluent” (gray water).   All these three layers are called septage.

The septic system is designed to function in a way that only the effluent or excess liquid goes to the drain field, leaving the sludge and scum behind.  Even if bacteria breaks down all the solid matter in the tank, it needs to be pumped our periodically.

Here are some basic tips on septic tank care:

  • Avoid draining too much water at a single time.  Remember, it needs time to separate the gray water from the solid waste and scum.
  • Check your plumbing system for leaks.
  • Switch to high-efficiency toilets.
  • Use the right load for your laundry in order to conserve water in your washing machines.
  • Don’t wash all your clothes in one day.  Try to spread this out to give you septic system time to recover and do its job.
  • Don’t flush non-biodegradable products or chemicals down the drain like diapers, sanitary pads, cigarette butts, cat litter, cotton swabs, gasoline and bleach.
  • If you own a garbage disposal, your septic system needs to be pumped more often.
  • Give it some good bacteria: pour down a liter of spoiled buttermilk once every three months and flush it down the toilet.
  • Ensure you get proper septic tank maintenance by calling professional Aventura plumbers like Douglas Orr Plumbing for regular check ups and pump outs.  Visit to schedule a service today.

BBQ Roasting: How To Host The Best Lobster Dinner Ever

BBQ roastingWho would ever say no to lobster? Definitely not me! It’s juicy, delicious and flavorful not only when boiled but also when grilled! And even if one would have to exert some energy just to crack it open and get rid of its hard shell, I would still insist on eating it! Now it’s pretty easy to order a serving of this mouth-watering seafood from restaurants. But cooking it at home, I’d say I had a challenging time preparing it the first time. I couldn’t even decide what recipe should I follow and or the dishes that I should serve with it. So if you are planning for a lobster dinner this weekend, read on and learn from these informative resources I found online!

Lobster Menu Ideas

Lobster is great for a family celebration, a special romantic dinner or even just a change from the ordinary. Because it is usually reserved for a special meal, the dishes served with lobster are usually a little extra-special too. They don’t have to be fancy or complicated, however, since the mild flavor of lobster pairs well with just about any food that isn’t spicy or pungent.

A whole lobster makes a fun and delicious dinner, but can be messy. Split lobster tails with butter are less messy, making them more appropriate for formal dinners. Other options for serving lobster include tails poached in butter, tomatoes stuffed with lobster, lobster Newburg, grilled lobster and lobster wrapped in pastry. Lobster bisque also makes a filling main dish.

The article pretty much provided all the wonderful ideas to make your dinner party even more spectacular! It presented some suggestions on sides to serve with your lobster; what drinks to concoct to make the meal even better and even ideas for desserts and soups. I loved the suggestions for vegetables because veggies paired with seafood are truly mouth-watering! I would choose the traditional grilled corn on the cob or green beans with lemon butter. Anyway, since you have already pictured your menu, let me also share this lobster recipe that I found online. I tried this at home and I must say that it’s just SOOOOO GOOOODDD! Here it is!

Grilled Lobster Tails with Herb Butter

Preheat your grill to direct medium-high heat. In a small bowl blend butter, chives, tarragon, minced garlic, hot sauce, and black pepper with a rubber spatula. Blend thoroughly. Cover with plastic wrap and reserve.

Using kitchen shears, butterfly the lobster tails straight down the middle of the softer underside of the shell. Cut the meat down the center without cutting all the way through. Insert a metal skewer down the lobster tail so the tail stands straight. Brush the tails with olive oil and season with salt, to taste.

How To Make Clam Bakes In Caja China

clam-bakes-in-Caja-ChinaHi moms! My name is Emmanuella and I want to welcome you to my first ever blog site! Like most moms we know, I also love cooking. And for my first blog, let me share a delicious and crave-worthy recipe. Learn how to make clam bakes in Caja China. Have you heard about it? For me, it’s the best barbecue grill in the market. I just bought mine a couple of years ago and since then, my husband and I have been having a great time barbecuing! So I guess I should not keep you waiting. Here’s my favorite clam bake recipe!

* 24 large shrimps

* 36 pieces littleneck clams

* 6 fresh lobsters

* 2 pounds small potatoes

* 2 pounds linguica sausage

* 6 medium leeks

* 6 ears of corn

* 2 pounds lobster packing seaweed

* sea salt

* extra virgin olive oil

* garlic butter

* Romesco sauce

* bread

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water. Put the garlic butter in a jar and then place it near the fire. This should melt the butter.
  2. Make two aluminum foil packets. Put equal portions of the ingredients in each packet. Afterward, drizzle some extra virgin olive oil on them and add salt according to your preference. Wrap the packets up.
  3. Soak the leeks and corn for about 30 minutes in a bucket of salted water. Add the seaweed as well.
  4. Light up the La Caja China. After 20 minutes, the charcoals should be ready. Spread them evenly on the charcoal grid.
  5. Put the seaweed and lobsters in each of the packets. Place the packets on the grill and let the food cook for approximately 45 minutes.
  6. Don’t remove the husk of the corns. Just grill them while you’re waiting for the clam bake.
  7. When the corns are done, remove the husks. Check the clam bake. If the lobsters are already bright red and if the clams are open, remove the packets from the grill.
  8. Serve with Romesco sauce and garlic butter.
